Communal cremation
Multiple pets cremated together in the same chamber. Ashes are not returned to individual families. The most affordable option around Miami.
Private (individual) pet cremation around Miami generally runs a median of $225–$437 depending on your pet's weight, with communal cremation lower. The harder problem is that 66% of Florida providers publish no price at all. We audited the ones who do, so you can plan from real numbers before you call.

Florida has one of the widest published price spreads we recorded anywhere: $95 at the low end to $749 at the high end for private cremation. That is not a difference in quality — it is a difference in what the market will bear, in a state where nobody is required to publish a number. Our 2026 study of 1,224 U.S. providers put the national median for private cremation between $183 and $390 by weight, with communal around $100–$175. Use those as your sanity check, and ask one provider for the all-in total — pickup, urn, everything — in writing before you commit.

Your pet is the only one in the chamber, and the ashes returned belong to your pet alone. Most Miami families choose this when they plan to keep their pet’s ashes.
Private vs. partitioned — what to askA subset of private cremation where you or your family can be physically present at the facility. Offered by a small number of Miami-Dade County providers.
A gentler, water-based alternative to flame cremation that uses far less energy and produces no direct emissions. Legal for pets nationwide and offered by a growing number of Miami-Dade County providers.

Pet cremation isn’t the most transparent industry, and the provider you choose decides what happens to your pet.
Of the 65 Florida providers we reviewed in 2026, only 7 published full pricing online. Pricing genuinely varies by weight and service — but the result is that you do not know what you will pay until you are already on the phone, on the worst day of your year.
A 10-pound cat and a 90-pound dog do not cost the same to cremate — a heavier body takes longer in the chamber and burns more fuel. Most providers use two to four weight tiers, and the spread between the low and high tier on the same service commonly runs $100–$300.
Not a consumer standard. A Florida provider can be fully compliant with the Department of Environmental Protection and still have no obligation to prove your pet was cremated individually. The checks that protect you are the ones you ask for yourself, in writing.
Vet clinics often bundle cremation into the euthanasia invoice. It is genuinely convenient at a moment when arranging it yourself is close to unthinkable — but it sometimes carries a markup, and you are free to arrange your own provider instead.

Because Florida has no consumer-protection licence, ask specifically: is my pet the only animal in the chamber for the full cycle, and will you give me an ID tag that follows my pet from pickup to return? Miami pet cremation pricing is not standardised — but it is not a mystery either. Plan from what is real, and reach the provider we would trust with our own pet when you are ready.
Connect with our trusted Miami providerAmong Florida providers that publish pricing, private (individual) cremation clusters around a median of $225–$437, with the full published range running $95–$749. Communal cremation, where ashes are not returned, runs lower — $50–$249 published. Price tracks your pet's weight most of all. Always ask for the all-in total in writing, including pickup and the urn.
Because they are not required to. In our 2026 review of 65 Florida providers, only 7 — 11% — published full pricing, and 66% published none at all. Pricing genuinely varies by weight and service type, which is part of the reason. But the effect is that you cannot compare before you engage, and that reliably works against the buyer.
No. Florida does not license or inspect pet crematories for consumer protection — there is no state board checking whether your pet is tracked, whether "private" means what you think it means, or whether the ashes you receive are really your pet's. The only oversight that exists is environmental: an animal crematory operates on a Florida Department of Environmental Protection air general permit. That permit governs emissions and equipment. It says nothing about how your pet is handled.
Private (individual) cremation means your pet is cremated alone and the ashes come back to you. Communal means several pets are cremated together and no ashes are returned, which is why it costs less. If getting your own pet's ashes back matters, you need private — and it is worth confirming in writing that private means a truly individual chamber.
It is available but uncommon — 5 of the 65 Florida providers in our review offer aquamation, about 8%. Aquamation is a gentler water-based alternative to flame cremation. It is not reliably cheaper; nationally our medians for the two overlap.
For most families yes, but the clear rules are local rather than statewide. Florida's one on-point statute, Fla. Stat. §823.041, addresses animals that died of a disease — those must be buried at least two feet below the surface or burned. For an ordinary pet death the binding rule is your city or county ordinance, so check Miami-Dade and your municipality before you dig.
