Eight of the 65 Georgia providers in our review are based in Atlanta itself — more in-city providers than any other market on our city pages. That is real choice, and it makes getting a second quote genuinely easy here. Our 2026 study of 1,224 U.S. providers put the national median for private cremation between $183 and $390 by weight, with communal around $100–$175. Use those as your sanity check, and ask one provider for the all-in total — pickup, urn, everything — in writing before you commit.

Your pet is the only one in the chamber, and the ashes returned belong to your pet alone. Most Atlanta families choose this when they plan to keep their pet’s ashes.
Private vs. partitioned — what to askA subset of private cremation where you or your family can be physically present at the facility. Offered by a small number of Fulton County providers.
A gentler, water-based alternative to flame cremation that uses far less energy and produces no direct emissions. Legal for pets nationwide and offered by a growing number of Fulton County providers.

Pickup, cremation, and return of ashes — and you know what’s happening at every step. One call. They take it from there. Get back to grieving — not researching.
Pet cremation isn’t the most transparent industry, and the provider you choose decides what happens to your pet.
Of the 65 Georgia providers we reviewed in 2026, 7 published full pricing online. Pricing genuinely varies by weight and service — but the result is that you do not know what you will pay until you are already on the phone, on the worst day of your year.
A 10-pound cat and a 90-pound dog do not cost the same to cremate — a heavier body takes longer in the chamber and burns more fuel. Most providers use two to four weight tiers, and the spread between the low and high tier on the same service commonly runs $100–$300.
Most markets we cover have one to five providers based in the city. Atlanta has eight, which means a second quote costs you one phone call rather than a search. Given that only 11% of Georgia providers publish pricing, that local density is the most useful thing you have — it turns an opaque market into a comparable one.
Vet clinics often bundle cremation into the euthanasia invoice. It is genuinely convenient at a moment when arranging it yourself is close to unthinkable — but it sometimes carries a markup, and you are free to arrange your own provider instead.

With eight providers inside the city, there is no reason to accept the first number you are given — get two. Atlanta pet cremation pricing is not standardised — but it is not a mystery either. Plan from what is real, and reach the provider we would trust with our own pet when you are ready.
Connect with our trusted Atlanta providerAmong Georgia providers that publish pricing, private (individual) cremation clusters around a median of $205–$482, with the full published range running $59–$485. Communal cremation, where ashes are not returned, runs lower — $90–$479 published. Price tracks your pet's weight most of all. Always ask for the all-in total in writing, including pickup and the urn.
Because they are not required to. In our 2026 review of 65 Georgia providers, 7 — 11% — published full pricing, and 57% published none at all. Pricing genuinely varies by weight and service type, which is part of the reason. But the effect is that you cannot compare before you engage.
No. Georgia's funeral oversight, set out in Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. 250-6, governs the State Board of Funeral Service, and that board regulates funeral establishments and crematories for human remains only. No Georgia agency issues a consumer licence to a pet crematory, and there is no Georgia equivalent of the consumer-protection statutes that a handful of other states have enacted.
It is available but uncommon — 9 of the 65 Georgia providers we reviewed offer aquamation, about 14%. Aquamation is a gentler water-based alternative to flame cremation. It is not reliably cheaper; nationally our medians for the two overlap.
Usually yes, but the binding rule is local rather than statewide. Georgia sets no general standard for routine backyard pet burial, so Atlanta and Fulton County ordinance govern. Keep the grave clear of wells and watercourses, bury deep enough to deter wildlife, and check your municipality — metro Atlanta spans several jurisdictions with different rules.
Substantially, and this catches people out. Metro Atlanta spans Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb, Gwinnett and several more counties, plus dozens of incorporated municipalities, and Georgia sets no statewide standard for routine backyard pet burial. That means the rule that binds you depends on which jurisdiction your address sits in, not on being in Atlanta broadly. Check your specific city or county code rather than a metro-wide summary.
Not automatically, and that is worth understanding. Atlanta has more in-city providers than any market we cover, but only 11% of Georgia providers publish pricing — so the competition exists without the transparency that would let it push prices down. The density helps you in a different way: a second quote is one phone call rather than a search. Use the choice you have.
